IS THERE A COMBINE FIRE PREVENTION KIT AVAILABLE FOR MY COMBINE MODEL?

The system can be adapted to many machines, but designs have been completed for some models.  Read below about models and kit availability.

CASE IH 8120

This was the first model to be tested in 2012.  There are two versions of the exhaust system.  The change came with the model 11 year.  Provide the machine serial number to identify early or late turbo position.

CASE IH 8010

This model uses the same engine as the 8120.  Two versions of the tin kit have been designed to accommodate the 2003 - 2006 AFX version and the later AF version  The fan and filter mount differently than other Case IH models because of the location of the ladder to the service platform.

CASE IH 8230

This model has DEF injection at a port just downstream of the turbo outlet.  That port requires some custom cutting of the tin pieces during installation to fit this irregular shape.

CASE IH 9120

The engine model in the 9120 is the same as the 8230 without DEF injection.  Exhaust enclosure kit is common to that model.  The section over the exhaust pipe after the turbo does not have the adaptation for the DEF injection port.

CASE IH 9230

This is the same 12.9 L engine as used in the 9120 and 8230.  It has the DEF injection port, as used in the 8230, and the kit is common to both models.

CASE IH 9240

This is a Tier IV B exhaust system.  I have an enclosure design that fits.  It has been redesigned to fit closely up to the DOC can.  The tin kit has many parts because of the complexity of this exhaust system.

CASE IH 8240

This model now has a tin kit designed to fit tightly up to the DOC, or muffler.  Like the 9240, it is a Tier IV B exhaust system, and complex.

CASE IH 8250

CaseIH met the EPA Tier IV B emissions requirements with the 8240 model.  The system and components for the 8250 appear to be the same, so the existing 8240 kit will serve this model as well.

CASE IH 9250

I have not had the opportunity to see or measure a 9250.   However, if like the 8240/8250, this exhaust system remained the same across the model change, the existing 9240 kit will fit.

CASE IH 7120

A kit for this model is now available.  The tin kit is specific to this engine.  Other aspects of the kit are common to the Case machines.

CASE IH 7230

A Firestop kit has not yet been designed to fit this model, as there has not yet been demand for one.  Sunflower growers in the Dakotas seem to utilize the larger machines.   If you need to protect this model make a request with considerable lead time.

CASE IH 7240/7250

A Firestop kit has not yet been designed to fit this model, as there has not yet been demand for one.  Sunflower growers in the Dakotas seem to utilize the larger machines.   If you need to protect one of these models make a request with considerable lead time.

JOHN DEERE 9770

This was the first  Deere model that was tested during the research effort.  I have a new design for the enclosure that should be a closer fit.

JOHN DEERE 9670

This model uses the same engine and configuration as the 9770.  The kit should fit both.

JOHN DEERE 9760

Most of these use the simpler engine from the 50 series combines.  The kit for the 9650 will fit these.  Some of the LATE 9670s and 9660s, (I'm told those with the bullet rotor), look like a 9770 engine. The 9770 kit should fit these.  An alternate mount for the fan and filter are required.  See the 9660 installation video.

JOHN DEERE 9870

A kit for this model should be available for use in 2021.  If you have this model you may wish to make contact at harvestfires@outlook.com to check on the status of the kit design.

DEERE S670

I have had several requests for this.  No design is available yet.  Maybe late 2021. Series turbochargers are difficult to fit around.  I would like to know if operators of this model are experiencing fires.

DEERE S680/S690

I have had several requests for this.  No design is available yet.  Maybe late 2021. Series turbochargers are very difficult to fit around.  I would like to know if operators of this model are experiencing fires.

Other Deere Models

Some of the older fleet may use the same engines and configuration as the 9770, 9760, and 9650.  If so, the existing kits may fit.  If you have something else, like a 9870, inquire about a new kit design, and provide a long lead time.

New Holland, Lexion, etc

New Holland machines use the same base engine as Case combines.  Access is different and I don't have designs yet.  If you experience fires and have a model not listed here contact me at HarvestFires@Outlook.com
